JULY 26, 2010 Just back from Comic Con with some insane news: HERPES BOY has won Best Comedy at Comic Con International Independent Film Festival! I don't even know where to begin with this one so I'll just say that we are all blown away by this honor and are very excited to see where this takes the film. Don't forget to add HERPES BOY to your Netflix queue! The more adds and ratings we get, the sooner it will be available for rent. Click here to add to your queue.
JULY 13, 2010 Amazing news! It has just been announced that HERPES BOY is an official selection at the 2010 Comic Con International Film Festival! The festival is highly selective and only programs a handful of feature films each year, so naturally we are excited and honored to be part of the lineup. Most of the key crew will be attending the screening, so if you're going to Comic Con, come and see us! Screening time is 2:25 pm on Saturday, July 24. In other news, last month I directed a sketch for my pals in The Greater Good called DICK STICK, and just last week it was featured on the front page of Funny or Die! Check out DICK STICK on Funny or Die or at the left hand column right here on my site. I love these guys and all of their videos are funny, so if you like DICK STICK, be sure to check out the rest of their stuff at their website. More exciting news to come, including possibly a new feature film by the end of the year! Stay tuned! MAY 18, 2010 SOMBRERO will be screening in New York City tomorrow, May 19, at the Out Professionals event NIGHT OF LESBIAN & GAY SHORT FILMS, hosted by the LOGO Network's John Polly. If you're in the area and want to check it out, tickets are $10. It should be fun! This weekend I directed a short parody for the comedy troupe THE GREATER GOOD! I really love these guys so it was a huge honor to be asked to direct their material. The video will go live in June and I will post it here as soon as that happens. Stay tuned! APRIL 28, 2010 Starting immediately after the screening on Apr. 29, you can click through this link and go directly to the voting page for "Sombrero!" Please help me out and vote for the film. The higher the rating, the more visible the film will be on the website.
APRIL 26, 2010 Be sure to tune in (or set your DVR) to LOGO this Thursday, April 29, at 7 pm! SOMBRERO is making its television premiere on "The Click List: The Best in Short Film!" Check out the new group page on Facebook while you're at it. And don't forget to vote for the movie! APRIL 17, 2010 HERPES BOY screens tonight at the Nashville Film Festival! If you're in the area, please check out the screening. We're in the New Director's Competition, so we'll hopefully find out next week if we won. Byron, Beth, and Ahna are all in Nashville right now supporting the film. As previously mentioned, SOMBRERO will be making its television premiere on MTV's LOGO Network on April 29, 2010, at 7 pm. If you get LOGO, please tune in and vote for the film at LOGOTV.com! The film will be playing in their "Best in Short Film" series for three years. MARCH 6, 2010 We just got word that HERPES BOY will be making its southeast regional premiere at the Nashville Film Festival! By all accounts Nashville is a fantastic festival and we are in the First-Time Filmmakers competition, which is very exciting for us. If you're in the area please check out one of our two screenings at the festival. In other news, my short film SOMBRERO will finally be making its television premiere on MTV's LOGO Network on April 29! It will be screening in their Best in Short Film series and will be aired intermittently for three years. You will also be able to vote for it on their site. Once I have all the information, I will post it here. SOMBRERO will also be screening this week in Australia at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. NOVEMBER 5, 2009 Huge news! HERPES BOY is the winner of the Comedy Vanguard Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival! It's pretty incredible being mentioned next to Jason Reitman's new movie in the Hollywood Reporter. Where will the film go from here? I have a feeling we're going to find out soon! NOVEMBER 3, 2009 I'm back from the Austin Film Festival and I'm still catching up from living off my iPhone for eight days. The festival was fantastic. We sold out both of our screenings and had to turn away people both times because there just weren't enough seats. The audience response was incredible and I couldn't have hoped for more. The festival itself was extremely well-run. It was my first time in Austin and I absolutely loved the city. What a great town!
While in Austin we found out that we got into the Lone Star International Film Festival in Ft. Worth, TX, so if you're in the area please check out the film. We're screening Sunday, Nov. 15. We'll be hearing from a lot of high-profile festivals in the coming months, so keep checking back. We will also have some big news about our sales agent in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned! |
